Menjaga Bay
Remote boutique eco-resort of overwater and hillside villas in a cove on the edge of Komodo National Park, reached only by...
A handful of small islands near Labuan Bajo have places to stay, from simple bungalows to barefoot luxury resorts. Seraya, Kanawa, Sebayur and Bidadari are all within an hour by boat of the harbour, with reefs a few metres from the beach and very little else to distract you.
Staying on an island means fewer crowds at the snorkel sites and quiet evenings, but meals, drinks and transfers are usually tied to the resort, so check what is included before you book. Komodo village, on Komodo Island itself, has a few homestays run by local families for travellers who want to see daily life inside the park.
