Menjaga Bay opened in 2023 in a sheltered cove at Kampung Menjaga, on the coast south of Labuan Bajo on the border of Komodo National Park. There are no roads or neighbours; guests arrive by boat, with about three scheduled crossings a day, and the hills of the park rise straight behind the bay.

Villas are built from timber with steep shingle roofs, some on stilts over the water with sun decks and loungers, others on the hillside above. The resort pitches itself as barefoot luxury: morning swims from the deck, meals outdoors, wildlife on the hills, and diving and spa treatments arranged on site. It scores around 8.6 on Trip.com from about 50 reviews, and guests in October 2026 praise the calm, the sunsets and the service, and mention that the remoteness is part of the appeal.

It suits couples who want quiet and nature over nightlife. Book by email or WhatsApp; transfers are by the resort's boat.

Boats and rooms sell out from June to September. Message the operator early.
