Spring Hill Hotel Ruteng

Spring Hill is a small hotel of bungalows set in landscaped gardens on Jalan Kesturi in Ruteng, the cool highland capital of Manggarai, about four hours' drive east of Labuan Bajo. It is close to the town centre and about 3 km from Frans Sales Lega airport.

Rooms are spacious with timber floors and large windows onto the garden, and the on-site Spring Hill Restaurant is often mentioned as one of the better places to eat in town. There is parking and luggage storage. Ruteng nights are cold, so the hotel is better suited to the climate than coastal properties. Reviews from 2025 and 2026 call it the best hotel in Ruteng, with friendly staff and good breakfasts; a few found the beds firm and dogs noisy at night.

It is a sensible overnight stop when driving the Trans-Flores road, visiting the Liang Bua cave or the spider-web rice fields at Cancar, or heading on to Denge for the Wae Rebo trek. Book through the booking sites or by phone.
