Rangko Cave is a limestone sea cave on the Tanjung Boleng headland, north-east of Labuan Bajo. Inside, sunlight filters through a gap in the rock onto a pool of clear saltwater, which glows turquoise in the early afternoon. You climb down a short set of rocks and can swim among the stalactites.

The site is managed by the local community and charges a small entry fee (reported at around IDR 50,000 per person). Most visitors drive about 45 minutes to Rangko village and take a fisherman's boat across, usually around IDR 200,000 per person and less for larger groups; the boat waits and brings you back. Speedboat and kayak tours from town also stop here.

It is open daily from 06:30 to 18:00. Go between 13:00 and 15:00 for the best light, and bring water shoes for the rocks.

Bring cash for the entry fee and boat, a towel and a snorkel mask to look at the rock formations below the surface. The village jetty also offers boats to nearby beaches. Several Labuan Bajo operators, including Komodo Kayaking and Plataran, include Rangko in their day itineraries if you prefer a guided trip.

Boats and rooms sell out from June to September. Message the operator early.
