The Kliff Bistro

The Kliff Bistro is perched above the coastline at Katamaran Hotel and Resort in Waecicu, on the north side of town. Floor-to-ceiling windows and an open terrace look across the bay to the islands, and at sunset it is one of the more sought-after tables in the area.

The menu mixes Italian, modern Japanese and tapas built on local seafood, with handmade pasta, grills and Mediterranean dishes, and the bar pours cocktails and wine. It opens from 15:00 to 23:00. The resort offers a complimentary drop-off into Labuan Bajo between 19:00 and 21:00, which removes the need to arrange a taxi back. It rates 4.5 on Google.

Katamaran also runs Uni Floating Beach Club over the water during the day and a pool bar with cabanas, which makes it easy to spend an afternoon at the resort and move to The Kliff for sunset. Dress is smart casual. Prices reflect the resort setting and the view.
