Silolona Sojourns has been chartering traditional sailing yachts in Indonesia for around 30 years. Its flagship Silolona was launched in 2004, hand-built from tropical hardwoods by Konjo shipwrights of Sulawesi to German Lloyd's specifications, and its newer sister Si Datu Bua follows the same approach. Both are chartered as whole boats with a full crew.
Komodo and the wider Flores archipelago are core destinations, with routes built around dragon treks on Komodo and Rinca, quieter anchorages away from the day-boat crowd, snorkelling and diving, and village visits. The company is known for adding cultural shore programmes rather than sticking to the standard park loop.
Choose Silolona if you want an experienced operator with a track record and a slower, culture-led trip. Itineraries and rates are quoted on request through the website. Komodo's dry season, roughly April to November, gives the most settled sailing. Book several months ahead for peak dates and confirm whether national park fees and diving are included.
Boats and rooms sell out from June to September. Message the operator early.
