Paradise Bar has been a fixture of Labuan Bajo nightlife for years. It sits on the hill at the end of Jl. Binongko, north of the harbour, with an open terrace that looks straight down over the anchored boats to the islands, so the early evening crowd comes for the sunset with a cold Bintang or a cocktail.
Later on it turns into the town's main late-night spot, with live bands, reggae and a dance floor under a thatched roof. A cover charge applies on Saturday nights. The crowd is a mix of travellers, dive staff and locals.
It is open daily from 17:00 to 01:00. It is a short ride from the main street; use a taxi or ojek rather than walking the unlit road home.
The terrace fills up quickly before sunset in the dry season, so aim to arrive around 17:30. Drinks are cheaper than at the resort bars, and the music usually starts after dark. Dress is casual and the atmosphere is friendly, with dive guides and boat crews often among the regulars.
Boats and rooms sell out from June to September. Message the operator early.
