Lamima is one of the largest phinisi on Indonesian waters, 65.2 m overall with an ironwood hull and teak decks, built by Konjo shipwrights to a Marcelo Pena design. She has a Master Cabin and six guest cabins, each named after a sea creature, and sails as a fully crewed private charter.
Komodo, Flores and Sumbawa are among her regular cruising grounds, alongside Raja Ampat, the Spice Islands, Triton Bay and Alor. On board there are underwater scooters, a sailing dinghy, a wakeboard and water skis, six paddle boards, sea kayaks, surfboards and snorkelling kit for 14, plus scuba diving for certified guests.
Lamima suits multigenerational families and groups who want plenty of activities beyond snorkelling. Charters are booked by enquiry with the reservations team on WhatsApp or email, and the website sets out which months she spends in each region. The calmest months in Komodo are usually April to October, which is also when most large private yachts are in the park, so book well ahead for July and August. Ask whether park entrance fees are part of the quote.
Boats and rooms sell out from June to September. Message the operator early.
