La Cucina opened on Jl. Soekarno Hatta in June 2013 and has become one of the busiest restaurants on the main street, with close to 3,000 Google reviews and a 4.5 rating. Italian chef Luigi leads a local team; pasta is made by hand every morning, bread is baked daily, and the menu runs from antipasti and pizza to classic pasta sauces and meat dishes.

The room is casual and bright, with tiled floors and shared tables, so it works well for families and groups coming off a day trip. It opens early (07:00) for breakfast and runs through to late evening, and it offers delivery in town. The owners also run a second La Cucina in Ruteng, handy if you are driving across Flores.

Prices sit in the mid-range for Labuan Bajo. Walk-ins are usually fine outside the July to September peak; for larger groups, message ahead by WhatsApp.

Its position halfway along the main street makes it an easy meeting point before or after an evening walk along the harbour.

Boats and rooms sell out from June to September. Message the operator early.
