Atlantis Beach Club sits on Pantai Pede, the main public beach south of town, and is run by the Plataran group. Its centrepiece is a sunken phinisi schooner converted into a restaurant and bar, so you can eat on the boat deck facing the sea. A traditional Javanese joglo pavilion next to the pool adds a second dining space.
The menu ranges from Indonesian dishes to casual Western food, seafood and tapas, and the bar is busiest at sunset. There is a swimming pool with a pool bar, free Wi-Fi, regular live music and DJ sets, and a scheduled pick-up service from hotels in town. It holds a 4.3 rating on Google.
Arrive by 17:00 for a sunbed with a view. Reservations go through the hotline or WhatsApp.
It is one of the few places near town where you can combine a swim, a pool, a meal and a sunset in one visit, which makes it popular with families in the afternoon and couples in the evening. Plataran also runs a separate clifftop restaurant, Atlantis on the Rock, at its resort in Waecicu.
Boats and rooms sell out from June to September. Message the operator early.
