AltoMare

AltoMare is a rooftop restaurant on the main street with views over the harbour and the anchored phinisi fleet, which makes it a popular choice for an evening meal at sunset. The owners have lived on Flores for more than 15 years and work directly with local fishermen and farmers, keeping imports to a minimum.

The menu is Italian with a seafood lean: appetisers, pasta, mains, pizza and desserts, plus a short list of Indonesian dishes for anyone who wants local flavours. The setting is more polished than most places on the strip, so it suits couples and a dinner to mark the end of a liveaboard trip.
